The Super Eagles, three-time African champions, managed to secure a 1-1 draw against their hosts.
After a change in travel plans back to Uyo, the team was delayed in Abidjan on Friday. Augustine Eguavoen’s side had faced Benin Republic at the Felix Houphet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Thursday night.
Originally scheduled to depart at 9am local time, the team will first land in Lagos before heading to Uyo. Given the circumstances, the players will not be training today.
Next Monday, the Super Eagles will face Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.”
