Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has signed a one-year contract extension with the Premier League champions, as reported by The Athletic.
Concerns arose when City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, left last month, leading to speculation that Guardiola may also depart. However, he has put an end to the uncertainty by agreeing to stay with the club.
Guardiola’s previous contract was set to expire in June 2025, but he has now committed to City until 2026 with the possibility of an additional year.
Since joining the team in 2016, Guardiola has become the most successful manager in Manchester City’s history, having won a total of 17 trophies.
