Cardi B has claimed she can easily spend $3 million (£2.3 million) a month.
Earlier this week, the rapper known as I Like It shared a sponsored post for the clothing brand Shein on her Instagram page.
Despite usually wearing designer clothes, Cardi B – whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar – faced criticism from some fans for collaborating with a fast fashion brand.
In response, the celebrity posted a voice recording on X where she defended her choices, stating that she is not just getting by and can actually spend around $3 million in a month.
“People say that I’m surviving off Shein deals and brand deals – wait hold on,” she began. “I want to let y’all know I could wake up tomorrow, sign a contract, and have half of $65 million – or half of $70 million – in my bank.”
In addition, Cardi uploaded a screenshot of a text message exchange that she allegedly had with a concert promoter in September.
As part of the conversation, the mother-of-three indicated she had been in negotiations for a tour that would have seen her get paid $1 million (£780,000) per concert for a “total” of $65 million (£51 million) and that she would have received “half the money upfront upon signing the contract”.
Yet, Cardi B rejected the apparent deal as the offer was made during her “off year”.
The 32-year-old and her estranged husband Offset welcomed their third child together, a daughter, in September.
Elsewhere in the rant, Cardi noted that she won’t be going on tour again until she releases another album.
“I don’t want to take tour deals until I announce my album because when I announce my album I know they’re going to up it,” she added. “You have to move smart. You can’t act hungry when you’re not.”
Cardi dropped her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, in 2018.
