Jay-Z files motion to reveal identity of rape accuser

JAY-Z Clears Up Retirement Rumors, Says He’s ‘Not Actively’ Making Music But ‘Open To Whatever’

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has filed a motion to disclose the identity of the woman accusing him of rape.

In a civil suit filed on Monday, Jay-Z was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl. He is now requesting that the accuser reveal her name rather than filing anonymously as “Jane Doe.”

In the document, obtained by E! News, his lawyer Alex Spiro stated that Carter “is respectfully seeking either dismissal of the allegations or disclosure of the Plaintiff’s identity.

Spiro added, “Fair is fair. It is not consistent with justice, fairness, or the rules governing federal proceedings for the Plaintiff and her counsel to smear (Jay-Z)’s good name.”

The document also noted that Jay-Z has built an “impeccable reputation,” adding he “has never been accused of, let alone engaged in, any sexual misconduct.”

In the civil suit, Jane Doe named Carter, 55, as the man she claims raped her along with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs at a house party after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in New York.

Carter released a statement denying the claims.

“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!!” he said.

“Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”

He also accused Texas-based lawyer Tony Buzbee of running an “extortionate campaign” against him for the past few months, claiming he sent him a “demand letter” prior to litigation.

“You have made a terrible error in judgement thinking that all ‘celebrities’ are the same,” Carter continued. “I’m a young man who made it out of the project of Brooklyn. We don’t play these types of games. We have very strict codes and honour.”
