Yahaya Bello, the immediate past governor of Kogi State, was unsuccessful in his attempt to secure bail from the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court on Tuesday.
Justice Maryann rejected Bello’s bail application as it was filed before he was taken into custody by the EFCC.
The application was submitted on November 22, but Bello was only arrested by the anti-graft agency on November 26 and arraigned the following day.
Bello, along with Umar Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalam Hudu, faced a 16-count charge filed by the EFCC on behalf of the Federal Government.
The charges include criminal breach of trust pertaining to the sum of N110,446,470,089.
