South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol was impeached by the South Korean parliament after attempting to impose martial law, causing a rift within his party.
The impeachment, which took place on Saturday, saw 204 members of parliament voting in favor and 85 voting against.
Yoon has been prohibited from traveling abroad as the investigation continues, according to Al Jazeera.
