Jay-Z asks court to dismiss sexual assault case as accuser admits making mistakes in her story

JAY-Z & Roc Nation Extend NFL Deal to Produce Super Bowl Halftime Show

The woman who accused Jay-Z and Diddy of sexual assault at a VMAs afterparty in 2000 provided more details about her accusations in a recent NBC News interview on Friday (December 13).

Despite facing challenges and admitting to some inconsistencies in her story, she maintains that the alleged assault did occur.

Jay-Z and his lawyer Alex Spiro responded by swiftly addressing the situation in court, with TMZ Hip Hop reporting that they presented evidence to the judge suggesting the plaintiff’s story is false.

“Basic facts in her narrative – the who, what, when, and where – are wrong,” Jay-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro expressed concerning the “sham” sexual assault lawsuit against his client. In addition, he claimed that she admitted to having “no single corroborating witness” and accused the woman’s lawyer Tony Buzbee of breaking court rules due to the accusation that he “almost certainly failed to undertake a reasonable inquiry into the facts before filing the complaint.”

Additionally, Spiro announced that he plans to file a motion to dismiss the sexual assault case on behalf of Jay-Z. Diddy’s legal team also issued a statement on the matter to TMZ Hip Hop.

“Yesterday, a lawyer admitted that over 50 people falsely claimed to be victims,” they alleged. “Today, for the second time this week, a Buzbee plaintiff has been exposed. This is the beginning of the end of the money grab.”
