Singer Hajarah Namukwaya, alias Spice Diana, has told up about another embarrassing experience from her early music career: she acquired prosthetic hips and buttocks to impress audiences on stage, but one fell out, leaving her out of shape.
As she prepares to mark a decade in the industry with a highly awaited concert on January 10, 2025, at Serena Hotel Kampala, the “Star Gal” took a journey down memory lane.
In an interview with Doreen Nasasira and Bina Babie, the singer discussed her first major concert, which took place in February 2018 at Front Page in Namasuba. Though the occasion was a watershed moment in her career, it was overshadowed by a memorable wardrobe malfunction.
Spice Diana revealed that she had used fake hips to enhance her look during the performance. However, when she was lifted into the air mid-performance, the faux enhancements shifted out of place. This left her embarrassed, but it also became a turning point for her style choices. “It was so embarrassing that I pledged never to wear them again,” she admitted.
Since then, Spice Diana has consistently been recognized as a Ugandan style icon, embracing authenticity and using her fashion to complement her artistic expression
