Legal Proceedings

On Tuesday, a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, ordered the remand of Prophetess Naomi Silekunola and others concerning the incident. The defendants are facing four charges, including conspiracy, murder, and negligent acts causing harm.

Oluwaseyi’s Reaction

In an Instagram Story post on Wednesday, Oluwaseyi questioned the basis of the murder charge against her sister. She wrote:

“I need lawyers to educate me on why my sister was charged for murder. Okay, she has been brought before the law, why is she being charged for murder?”

She expressed frustration over what she described as an “order from above” influencing her sister’s treatment, adding:

“If you have personal vendetta with my sister, come out in the open. Don’t go through corners! Come out and convict her of murder yourself!”

Allegations of Inhumane Treatment

Oluwaseyi further alleged that Silekunola was being treated unfairly and likened her treatment to that of a terrorist. She revealed that their mother had to plead daily for visitation rights and was even restricted from using her phone.Queen Naomi Silekunola becomes a bride as she celebrates her 31st Birthday

“My mummy had to beg every day before she was allowed entry. She was not allowed to use her phone. I had to beg for her son to be allowed to see her at the police hospital,” she claimed.

Public Reactions

The case has sparked widespread discussions online, with some questioning the charges while others calling for a thorough investigation into the tragic event. Silekunola’s remand and subsequent allegations of undue influence and mistreatment have further fueled public interest.

The court proceedings are expected to continue, and the case remains a critical point of contention in the public sphere.
