SZA stopped on the Sherri program today (January 8) to discuss her action-packed output. Indeed, in addition to launching her new project, ‘SOS Deluxe: LANA,’ the singer is preparing for the release of her debut film, ‘One of Them Days’ (which enters US theatres on January 17).
She’s also gearing up to set sail on her first stadium tour, the ‘Grand National’ with frequent collaborator Kendrick Lamar.
Host Sherri Shepherd quizzed SZA during the visit about a potential joint project with K.Dot.
On crafting a body of work with the Hip-Hop titan, the 35-year-old said:
“I would love that. I think that would be amazing. He is such a genius. Part of his genuis is him being so elusive and so mysterious and I love it. I don’t know what’s going on just as much as you dont know.”
Continuing, she shared:
“When ‘Luther’ came out, I was like ‘ok, that’s that vocals we are using. Period (laughs).’ Same with ‘Gloria.’ I love that. He’s a huge part of my fumbling and finding era. Because I’m just trusting all of his expertise. I’m like, ‘teach me sensei.’”
