LA wildfires: Billboard cancels Grammy Week events

Billboard has now joined Universal Music, Sony Music, and Warner Music in canceling its Grammy Week events. The cancellations come amid mounting reports following the deadly Los Angeles wildfires. While the 2025 Grammy Awards are still set to take place at the beginning of February, the major labels have chosen to cancel their related events.

Universal Music Group, home to artists like Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, and Kendrick Lamar, has confirmed the closure of all its Grammy-related events, including its annual artist showcase and after-party.

Sony Music Entertainment, which includes Columbia, RCA, and Epic Records, has also canceled its afterparty in favor of redirecting funds towards local relief efforts in Los Angeles.

Warner Music Group, representing acts such as Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars, and Benson Boone, has followed suit in canceling their Grammy-related events.

Billboard has additionally announced the cancellation of all the company’s Grammy-related events.

“Our hearts are with the people of Los Angeles as they face the reality of these devastating fires. Many members of our staff and community have been personally affected, and our core focus at this time is allocating the resources we have to support long-term recovery for the city we call home,” Billboard shared in a statement.

Events including Managers to Watch and the annual Power 100 party have been scrapped.

So far, the Clive Davis pre-Grammy gala, which celebrates its 50th year, is still going ahead.

The 2025 Grammy Awards will air live from downtown Los Angeles on 5 February. Beyoncé leads the pack of nominees with 11 nominations.
