Myles Lewis-Skelly's Red Card Overturned Following Successful Appeal

Myles Lewis-Skelly, 18, has had his three-match suspension overturned after Arsenal appealed his red card in their 1-0 victory over Wolves on Saturday.

Referee Michael Oliver sent off the midfielder during the first half at Molineux following a challenge on Wolves defender Matt Doherty. Darren England, the match’s VAR, supported the decision, deeming it serious foul play.

However, an FA statement on Tuesday confirmed that an independent regulatory commission had upheld Arsenal’s claim of wrongful dismissal and removed Lewis-Skelly’s suspension.

“The Arsenal player was sent off for serious foul play during their Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, January 25, 2025,” the FA stated.

With the ban lifted, Lewis-Skelly is now eligible to play in Premier League matches against Manchester City and Leicester and the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final at Newcastle.
