Tennis world number one, Jannik Sinner,

Jannik Sinner, the top-ranked Men’s Tennis player in the world, has been suspended for three months due to a doping violation.

Last year, Sinner tested positive for a banned substance, leading to his ban by WADA.

The organisation said in a statement on Saturday that “Mr Sinner will serve his period of ineligibility from 9 February 2025 to 11.59pm on 4 May 2025.”

This means that Jannik Sinner will be eligible to return to competitive tennis before the French Open which starts in late May.

Reacting to his ban, Sinner said in a statement on Saturday, “I have accepted WADA’s offer to resolve these proceedings on the basis of a three-month sanction.”

“I have always accepted that I am responsible for my team and realise WADA’s strict rules are an important protection for the sport I love,” he added.

Initially denying any wrongdoing, Jannik Sinner was later cleared of doping by an independent tribunal in August.

Despite this, he has now accepted a three-month ban that will allow him to return to competition in time for the Italian and French Opens in May.
