The Rome public prosecutor’s office is seeking to charge Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis with false accounting related to transfers involving Victor Osimhen and Kostas Manolas over a span of three years.
Reports from various Italian outlets such as Sky and La Gazetta dello Sport indicate that De Laurentiis is accused of manipulating capital gains in the club’s acquisition of Osimhen from Lille in 2020, as well as in Manolas’ transfer from AS Roma to Napoli in 2019.
It is alleged that these deals resulted in inflated capital gains by overstating the value of players involved.
Prosecutors Lorenzo Del Giudice and Giorgio Orano are also seeking for Napoli and De Laurentiis’s associate Andrea Chiavelli to stand trial in connection to the case.
