A Nigerian vendor has publicly called out influencer Papaya Ex, also known as Abike, for allegedly failing to attend her Ilaro trade fair event despite receiving a ₦3 million payment.
According to the vendor, Papaya Ex was fully booked to appear at the event on February 23rd. However, on the day of the event, she sent a message claiming she had missed her flight due to a layover.
The vendor questioned the legitimacy of Papaya Ex’s excuse, pointing out that just two days before the event, she had posted a Snapchat video enjoying herself in Dubai. Feeling deceived, the vendor has demanded a full refund and vowed not to back down until she gets her money back.
The incident has sparked reactions online, with many questioning influencers’ accountability for brand deals and paid appearances.
