President Tinubu has approved and signed the 2025 budget, which was initially proposed at N49.7 trillion but was later increased by the National Assembly to N54.2 trillion at the request of the president.
The budget breakdown includes N3.645 trillion for Statutory Transfers, N14.317 trillion for Debt Servicing, N13.64 trillion for Recurrent Expenditure, and N23.963 trillion for Capital Expenditure (Development Fund).
Additionally, N14.317 trillion has been allocated for debt servicing to meet Nigeria’s fiscal obligations, and N13.64 trillion has been designated for Recurrent Expenditure to cover salaries, overheads, and government operations.
