Controversial social critic Verydarkman (VDM) has publicly and sarcastically apologized to gospel singer Mercy Chinwo after she filed a N1.1 billion lawsuit against him.
The legal action, dated March 3, stems from Instagram posts in which VDM alleged that Chinwo withheld earnings from her performances instead of remitting them to her former record label, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu (EeZee Tee).
In response, VDM took to Instagram, listing about seven people who have also sued him and lamenting that he cannot afford to settle all their financial demands.
In a dramatic video, he shed tears while pleading with Chinwo and humorously singing her songs in a bid to soften her stance. He begged her to lower the lawsuit amount to N5 million, claiming that’s all he can afford.
“Una go kee me. The money wey dey inside the NGO sef no reach that amount. I know this case is not a case I can go on, so it is better I tender an apology. Mercy, don’t let the devil use you. I don’t have N1bn to pay in case you win. Abeg, I am not saying you should not sue, reduce the money, maybe to N5m,” he pleaded.
