"Coming from someone without a defined career" - Wumi Toriola slams food critic Opeyemi for defending Chef T

Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has clapped back at food critic Opeyemi Famakin for defending popular chef Tolani Tayo-Osikoya (Chef T) amid claims that she had ignored Toriola’s request to appear in a cooking episode to promote her upcoming movie.

The feud began when Toriola publicly criticized Chef T for allegedly dismissing her collaboration proposal. While Chef T has remained silent on the matter, Opeyemi took to social media to staunchly support the chef, asserting that she had worked tirelessly to establish her reputation.

Opeyemi further rebuked bloggers for sensationalizing controversies instead of acknowledging Chef T’s accomplishments in the food industry. He stressed that collaboration should not be expected and recounted an incident where an actress unfollowed him for a similar reason.

Upon realizing that she was the actress in question, Toriola unleashed a scathing response on Instagram, branding Opeyemi a “coward” and accusing him of seeking attention.

She dismissed his relevance in the industry, stating that he has done “more harm than good to struggling entrepreneurs” in the name of food criticism. The actress wrote:

“Dear Opeyemi,

There’s really no need to act like a coward.

My name is Wumi Toriola, and I’m merely responding to your tantrums and desperate need for attention – if it brings you even a shred of relevance, I truly don’t mind.

It’s rather amusing, though, coming from someone without a defined career or any tangible job description. You’ve caused more harm than good to struggling entrepreneurs, all under the guise of being a self-appointed food critic.

Next time you feel the urge to come for me, perhaps take a moment to reflect, establish a long-term career or build a successful business of your own. That way, your words might carry a little more weight.

Sincerely, Wumi Toriola.”
