Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, expressed his desire to play alongside Virgil van Dijk next season, stating that he would “love” the opportunity.
Salah recently signed a two-year extension with the club, putting an end to any speculation about his future at Anfield.
On the other hand, Van Dijk is currently in a similar situation as he is set to become a free agent.
Despite this, there is hope that the Liverpool captain will also reach a new agreement with the club.
Van Dijk showcased his importance to the team by scoring the winning goal in their recent match against West Ham United and celebrated by kissing the badge on his shirt in front of the Kop.
When asked about the celebration after the match, Van Dijk said: “Everyone knows how much I love this club, and let’s see what next week will look like.”
Salah added: “I am glad we managed to do that [contract] before the end of the season. Hopefully, Virgil will be next.
“He can do whatever he wants, but I would love to play with him next season.”
