I paid dearly for fighting Buhari – Fayose

Former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State lamented the consequences of his feud with ex-President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.

Fayose revealed that his prolonged legal battle, which has lasted for seven years, was a direct result of his conflict with Buhari.

In 2016, Fayose was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alongside other individuals on charges of money laundering, involving approximately N1.219 billion.

This money was alleged to be part of N4.7 billion transferred from the Office of the National Security Adviser’s account in the Central Bank of Nigeria.

According to Fayose: “When I said I must fight Buhari throughout, I paid dearly for it. I have been in court for the last seven years. They hit me on my neck, and I had three surgeries.

The PDP chieftain also commented on the temperament of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

He called for peace between Wike and aggrieved PDP chieftains.

“When I was in the PDP, I stood my ground and handed over to Wike as my younger brother, he was not as hot as I was then. But when you see a troublemaker who is bigger than you are, you will take it easy.
