Barcelona winger Raphinha expressed his eternal gratitude to manager Hansi Flick, acknowledging that the German coach transformed his career.
Raphinha made these remarks leading up to Barcelona’s LaLiga El Clasico match against Real Madrid on Sunday.
The Brazilian admitted that if it weren’t for Flick, he would likely be playing for a different club right now.
“I will be forever grateful to Hansi Flick. He changed my entire career,” Raphinha was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying.
“He wanted to see me train before taking any decision with my future.
“He saw me in his plans. Without Flick, I [would] maybe at another club and not at Barça now.”
Having scored 32 goals and provided 25 assists in 51 appearances for Barcelona this season, he has been a key player for the Catalan club. He has already secured victories in the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana with Flick’s team.
Additionally, Raphinha is currently tied as the leading scorer in the UEFA Champions League this season along with Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy, with both players having notched 13 goals in the competition.
With his impressive performances, he received support from Brazilian legend Rivaldo, who believes he has the potential to win the Ballon d’Or in 2025.
