Rapper Ruggedman has reportedly been taken into custody by the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti.
The artist is said to be detained in connection with an ongoing dispute involving the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN).
The development was disclosed by human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared the news via Instagram on Thursday.
Raising public awareness, Harrison claimed that Ruggedman is facing mistreatment by the police despite a lack of formal investigation.
“No proper investigation has been concluded. He and others are being maltreated. I wish to draw the attention of Nigerians to what is going on,” he said.
Ruggedman, along with fellow members JFO Baba Ojonorgua, Sunny Neji, and Zaaki Azzay, was suspended by PMAN in August 2024 over alleged misconduct.
