Diddy allegedly confiscated phones belonging to his assistant and former girlfriend, and used tracking devices to monitor their movements, a court has heard during the ongoing sex trafficking trial against the 55-year-old music mogul.
The case, now in its fourth week, featured further testimony from a former personal assistant using the pseudonym “Mia”, who returned to the stand in New York on Monday after previously testifying on Thursday and Friday.
According to CNN, Diddy’s’ lawyer Brian Steel questioned Mia about her decision to send him a “happy holidays” text message, despite her allegations, during the period they remained in contact between 2018 and 2023.
Mia explained that even after her 2017 departure from the job—following eight years of employment—she felt she was still under his psychological control.
She told the court that while working for Combs, he gave her a flip phone and instructed her to use it to film content for him until he hired professional videographers. However, she stated she “would not have been allowed to film” moments when he allegedly became violent.
Referring to her close friendship with Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s’ ex-girlfriend from 2007 to 2018, Mia claimed that Combs had seized both their phones on numerous occasions.
“He stole Cassie’s phone many times, and mine as well,” she testified, adding that he allegedly placed tracking devices on Cassie’s car, which left her feeling “terrified”.
Diddy is facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
The trial is ongoing.
