President Tinubu Confers CFR Honour on Bill Gates for His Contributions to Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has awarded Bill Gates, the American billionaire and philanthropist, the prestigious title of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) — one of Nigeria’s highest national honours.

The recognition comes in appreciation of Gates’ long-standing impact on Nigeria’s healthcare, technology, and humanitarian sectors through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The honour was officially conferred at a special event in Abuja, attended by top government officials and dignitaries from across the country.

Over the years, the Gates Foundation has invested heavily in health initiatives, including polio eradication, malaria control, and vaccination programs, while also supporting agricultural development and education in Nigeria.
