Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter, Shiloh Jolie, is stepping into her own spotlight — and doing so under a new name.
Now 19, Shiloh has embraced the nickname “Shi” as she makes her debut as a choreographer. Her first public project? A sensual dance performance for dancers Keoni Rose and Tako Suzuki, set to singer Luella’s track “Naïve.”
The routine was part of an exclusive dinner event celebrating the launch of French designer Isabel Marant’s capsule collection in collaboration with Net-A-Porter, according to Variety.
Shi’s quiet but confident arrival into the dance world also comes on the heels of a very public personal decision: removing “Pitt” from her hyphenated last name. In May 2024, just after turning 18, Shiloh filed legal documents to change her name to Shiloh Jolie, opting to distance herself from her father’s surname.
When media outlets interpreted the legal process as a public announcement, her attorney, Peter Levine, pushed back:
“The media should be more careful in their reporting — especially when covering a young adult who has made an independent and significant decision following painful events, and is merely following legal process,” he told Fox News Digital.
And Shi isn’t alone in this choice.
Her younger sister Vivienne, now 16, recently worked behind the scenes on Broadway’s The Outsiders as a producer’s assistant. In the official playbill, she was credited as Vivienne Jolie.
Earlier, Zahara Jolie, 20, introduced herself without her father’s name during a sorority induction ceremony at Spelman College, simply stating: “I’m Zahara Marley Jolie.”
The shift among the Jolie-Pitt children follows a turbulent family history. Angelina filed for divorce from Brad in 2016, alleging physical abuse during a private jet flight.
Though Pitt denied the claims and no charges were filed after an FBI investigation, the couple’s long divorce battle was only finalized in December 2024.
Now, with Shiloh — or Shi — charting her own path in the arts, and her siblings making similar choices, it seems the next generation of Jolie kids are finding independence and identity on their own terms.
