U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly denied any American involvement in the recent deadly escalation between Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This follows a report stating that Israeli forces launched a series of devastating airstrikes on Iran Thursday night, reportedly killing several top Iranian military officials. In retaliation, Iran fired hundreds of ballistic missiles at Israel, with Israeli authorities confirming at least three fatalities.
While reports suggest that some of the aircraft used in the Israeli assault were U.S.-made, Trump was quick to disassociate the United States from the attack.
Taking to his social media platform, Trump issued a stern warning to Iran while offering a path to diplomacy.
“The US has nothing to do with the attack on Iran tonight. If we are attacked by any way, shape or form by Iran the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before,” he wrote.
Despite the firm warning, the former President also extended an olive branch, expressing a willingness to mediate peace between the two long-time adversaries.
“However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel and end this bloody conflict,” he added.
Iran, in response to Israel’s earlier offensive, vowed that its missile attack marked the start of a “crushing response.”
The situation continues to spark global concern, with rising fears that the conflict may spiral further if not diplomatically contained.
