President of the United States, Donald Trump, has issued a stern warning to Iran, giving the country 48 hours to reach an agreement with Washington or face serious consequences.
In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump stated that “time is running out,” referencing what he described as a prior ultimatum to Tehran to either strike a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
“Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will rain down on them,” Trump wrote, adding, “Glory be to GOD!”
The warning comes amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran following weeks of military and political standoffs across the Gulf region.
Washington has continued to push for a comprehensive agreement that would require Iran to abandon its nuclear weapons ambitions, including uranium enrichment, while also scaling back its ballistic missile programme and regional influence.
In exchange, the US has indicated that economic sanctions could be eased if such conditions are met.
The latest development also follows reports of a US F-15E fighter jet crash over Iranian territory on Friday, with search and rescue operations ongoing for a missing crew member.
Although Trump did not directly reference the incident, it has heightened concerns about a possible further breakdown in relations between the two countries, raising fears of a wider regional conflict.
