“You are miscreant and a nonentity” – Ned Nwoko Responds to Omoyele Sowore’s Criticism Over TikToker Tuma’s Remand

Senator Ned Nwoko has responded to activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, following Sowore’s criticism of the remand of TikToker Timothy Gabriel, popularly known as Tuma.

Tuma is currently in detention over viral videos in which he made damning and unsubstantiated allegations against Nwoko’s wife, actress Regina Daniels. The TikToker alleged that Regina was involved with a secret lover in Abuja and questioned the paternity of her two children with the senator.

In a statement, Nwoko dismissed Sowore’s claims that the remand order was “fraudulently obtained,” asserting that the legal process was duly followed after Tuma publicly dared the couple to take legal action.

“Our family took the proper legal route in addressing this grave defamation. Sowore’s attempt to trivialize character assassination is reckless and misleading. No one, regardless of their platform, is above the law,” the senator’s media office stated.

Nwoko emphasized that Tuma’s statements were “not mere insults” but serious defamatory accusations intended to damage his family’s reputation.

Sowore, in his post on Friday, June 20, alleged that the remand order was improperly secured, arguing that Tuma’s action amounted to “insulting a rich man’s wife,” not a criminal offense warranting imprisonment.

But Nwoko refuted this stance, warning that “the internet is not a license for blackmail, slander, or falsehood.”

The senator confirmed that both civil and criminal cases are ongoing against Tuma and hinted that any accomplices amplifying defamatory narratives could also face legal consequences.

Meanwhile, Tuma remains in custody as the matter plays out in court.
