Former Big Brother Naija housemate Sammie has been accused of defrauding a fan, identified as Emmanuel, of ₦4.5 million under the pretense of helping him secure a spot on the reality TV show.
According to Emmanuel, Sammie—whose real name is Samuel Jacob Alifa—allegedly claimed he could influence the selection process and repeatedly demanded money to “facilitate” it.
Emmanuel said he initially complied with the requests, but when he couldn’t meet the full amount, Sammie allegedly advised him to take a loan to complete the payment.
“At the end of the day, I had to sell my car to repay the loan,” Emmanuel said, adding that Sammie cut off communication after the BBNaija audition process concluded and he wasn’t selected.
Emmanuel claimed Sammie had promised a refund if things didn’t work out but failed to honor the agreement.
“What hurt me the most is that I wasn’t scammed by a stranger but by someone I considered a brother.”
As of now, Sammie has not issued any public response to the allegations.
The incident has sparked backlash online, with fans calling for a proper investigation and urging BBNaija organizers to clarify if any housemate can influence casting decisions.
