Emeka Ugwuonye, the legal representative of May Edochie, has firmly denied viral rumours suggesting that his client sent an apology letter to her estranged husband, Yul Edochie.
During a recent live session, the prominent lawyer set the record straight, stating that May is not interested in reconciliation and is fully focused on her ongoing divorce proceedings and seeking damages.
“There is nothing like that,” Ugwuonye said. “May has no reason to apologize. She is the one who filed for the divorce.”
Yul Edochie Did Not File a Counterclaim
Ugwuonye emphasized that Yul had every opportunity to respond legally but chose not to file a counterclaim.
“Yul had the opportunity to fight for a counterclaim, but he didn’t do that. As it is today, Yul wants polygamy,” he added.
The lawyer described the circulating story of an apology as false and misleading, urging the public to disregard such claims.
Focus Remains on Legal Separation
May Edochie, who has garnered public sympathy and support amid the controversy surrounding Yul’s second marriage to actress Judy Austin, has consistently kept a dignified silence while allowing her legal team to speak on her behalf.
Her lawyer’s recent comments reinforce her commitment to moving on and legally severing ties with Yul, rather than seeking any form of reconciliation.
