Spanish model Claudia Calvo has broken her silence amid swirling allegations that she rejected an invitation to Barcelona star Lamine Yamal’s 18th birthday party due to “weird demands” made by event organisers — including specifications around breast size and hair colour of potential female guests.
Yamal’s lavish birthday celebration reportedly took place on July 12 aboard a private yacht, with the location kept secret until the final hours. According to Spanish media outlet Extra, Calvo was allegedly approached to both attend the party and recruit 12 women meeting specific physical criteria for the event.
The outlet claimed Claudia Calvo said:
“They focused mainly on breast size or hair colour, whether they were blonde.”
She reportedly explained that due to her experience as a nightclub waitress, she had access to a network of women who might meet the requirements, and some expressed interest. However, she ultimately declined the offer after noting a lack of clarity and security regarding expected interactions at the party.
“They were offering each girl $17,500 for 24 hours, and an exclusive credit card to spend during the celebration,” Claudia Calvo was quoted as saying.
Amid rising public attention and backlash, Claudia Calvo took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to address the reports and distance herself from any direct accusations against individuals:
“I want to make it clear, officially, that I have only spoken about what I was personally informed of. At no point have I spoken about or mentioned anyone in connection with these accusations. Everything remains alleged, as there is no conclusive evidence or tangible proof. I apologise if my statement has been misinterpreted.”
As of now, Lamine Yamal has not commented publicly on the reports. The Barcelona youngster, fresh off an impressive showing at EURO 2024, continues to enjoy rising stardom, though this controversy has sparked online debate over the conduct and culture surrounding celebrity events.
