Tensions have escalated in the ongoing transfer saga of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and his son Edoardo have allegedly received death threats from furious Galatasaray fans pressuring them to finalize the player’s move to the Turkish giants.

According to Turkish journalist Samet Çayır, Edoardo De Laurentiis was bombarded with vulgar and threatening WhatsApp messages, with screenshots showing a Galatasaray supporter demanding that he not block Osimhen’s permanent transfer. The fan’s threats reflect growing frustration over Napoli’s strict financial terms for the deal.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan last summer, has been nothing short of sensational for the Istanbul-based club. In 41 appearances, the Super Eagles striker racked up an incredible 45 goal contributions — comprising 37 goals and 8 assists — making him Super Lig’s top scorer last season.

Galatasaray, eager to retain their star man, have been pushing for a permanent deal, but negotiations have hit a wall. Napoli are reportedly demanding €40 million upfront, with an additional €35 million due by 2026, plus a percentage of any future resale. However, Galatasaray want to defer the second payment to 2027 and eliminate the resale clause, leading to a stalemate.

Osimhen, who has also scored 26 goals in 41 appearances for Nigeria, remains at the center of the heated transfer tug-of-war. His future remains uncertain, with fans and officials growing increasingly desperate to reach a resolution.

The threatening messages have drawn widespread condemnation, as observers call for restraint amid what has become one of the summer’s most contentious transfer sagas.
