MultiChoice Nigeria has officially unveiled the biggest twist yet in the history of Big Brother Naija — a staggering ₦150 million grand prize awaits the winner of BBNaija Season 10, making it the highest payout since the show began in 2006.
Premiere Date and Theme: “Connections”
The highly anticipated 10th season of the hit reality TV show will launch with a double premiere on Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27, 2025. It will be broadcast on both DStv and GOtv platforms.
This milestone edition will carry the theme “Connections”, which according to Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, is a nod to the relationships, cultural moments, and entertainment impact the show has created over the last decade.
“BBNaija Season 10 is more than just a reality show. It’s a celebration of a decade of entertainment, growth, and impact,” said Tejumola. “This season, we’re embracing the theme of ‘Connections’ to reflect the deep bonds the show has created over the years.”
Historical Stats and Returning Host
Since its debut, Big Brother Naija has featured 197 housemates, aired for 709 days, and awarded a total of ₦637 million in cash and prizes.
Fan-favorite Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will return as host, continuing his long-standing role as the face of BBNaija.
Physical Auditions and Format Expectations
This year, BBNaija reintroduced physical auditions for the first time since 2019. Auditions were held between May 16–18, building anticipation and buzz across the country.
While the exact game mechanics are yet to be revealed, fans can expect new twists and strategic gameplay following last season’s “No Loose Guard” format — where housemates auditioned in pairs before competing individually.
That season saw Kellyrae, a married woman, make history as the first of her kind to win the show, walking away with ₦100 million.
