Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has called for Nigeria’s next president to emerge from the South-East, citing the need for fairness and equity in the country’s leadership.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Monday, Edochie stated, “The next President of Nigeria should come from the South-East in fairness and equity. That’s just the truth and that’s how it should be.”
His comments came as a surprise to many, given his consistent support for the current President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has signaled his intention to seek a second term in 2027.
Yul Edochie has been vocal in defending Tinubu’s administration, often urging Nigerians to remain patient through the current economic challenges, with the promise that the reforms will eventually yield positive results.
