Governor Sanwo-Olu to Commission Nigeria’s Largest Safety Footwear Factory in Lagos

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has officially sworn in newly elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the state’s 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Sunday at the Sports Ground of the Governor’s Office, Lagos House, Ikeja.

In his address, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged the newly inaugurated council leaders to provide inclusive, accountable, and people-oriented leadership. He emphasized the importance of governing with empathy, fairness, and a strong commitment to service delivery, irrespective of political affiliations.

“This is not the time for politics. Govern with empathy and equity, regardless of those who voted or did not vote for you,” he said.

He called on the chairmen to use the autonomy granted to local governments wisely and effectively, for the benefit of their respective communities.

“You have been called to serve, and I believe you will deliver good governance. We have given you the platform, tools, and opportunity. Now is the time to work,” Sanwo-Olu added.

The Governor also charged them to align their developmental efforts with the THEMES+ agenda, which focuses on Traffic Management & Transportation, Health & Environment, Education & Technology, Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, Entertainment & Tourism, Security & Governance, and Agricultural & Food Systems.
