Entrepreneur May Edochie has revealed how her once-thriving businesses crumbled under the weight of her emotional and financial struggles following her marital crisis with popular actor Yul Edochie.
Speaking during the launch of her beauty products in London, May shared that the turmoil not only took a toll on her personal life but also left her in deep debt.
“It was barely a few months when all the unprecedented occurrences came my way,” she said.
“I sat and watched everything go down the drain… I had to repay three banks at the same time. Interests were piling, goods expired in my stores, and I lost everything.”
She explained that while her marital situation was making headlines, she was silently battling mounting pressure behind the scenes.
Despite the setbacks, May said she refused to be broken.
“I believe in myself and I know what I’m made of. I said no, I am not going to be at the mercy of anyone.”
May’s emotional revelation comes over two years after her husband Yul Edochie publicly announced his second marriage to actress Judy Austin in April 2022 — a decision that drew intense public backlash and strained his relationship with May.
Shortly afterward, May distanced herself from the actor, declaring that polygamy goes against her faith and values. Although Yul issued a public apology in December 2022, May remained firm in her decision and began to rebuild her life independently.
Since the separation, May has received widespread support from fans and has steadily focused on her personal healing, growth, and entrepreneurial journey.
