An 18-year-old Nigerian-born student, Abiola Abidoye, is making headlines in the United Kingdom after achieving the highest A-Level grade in Law nationwide.
Abidoye, who studied at One Sixth Form College in Ipswich, secured exceptional results with A grades in Maths, Further Maths, Law, and Physics*.
Despite admitting that law was not his strongest subject, he stunned examiners by scoring 224 out of 240 marks across three papers, earning him national recognition.
“I am really pleased,” Abidoye said. “I have maths and physics which are my strong suit. I did law because it’s my passion. I wasn’t expecting to do so well.”
He revealed that he had put in long nights of intense study, often working until “ungodly hours,” in a bid to excel. The young scholar also credited his teachers for their unwavering support throughout his academic journey.
Speaking on his passion, Abidoye said he enjoyed exploring various aspects of law, even those not covered in class, such as human rights.
Looking ahead, Abidoye plans to pursue a degree in mathematics and hopes to build a career in banking or finance.
His remarkable achievement has not only brought pride to his college but also stands as an inspiration to other students across the UK and Nigeria.
