Human rights activist Deji Adeyanju has proposed a bold solution to curb the growing menace of paternity fraud in Nigeria.
According to Adeyanju, DNA testing should be made compulsory before a birth certificate is issued to any newborn in the country.
In a post shared on X, he urged the National Assembly to consider passing a bill that would enforce this as a law.
The activist’s suggestion has since sparked widespread debate, with many Nigerians backing the idea, arguing that it would drastically reduce cases of paternity fraud, which they believe is on the rise.
