Mohamed Salah wins PFA player of the year award

Mohamed Salah has etched his name into football history, becoming the first-ever Premier League player to win the prestigious PFA Footballer of the Year award.

The Liverpool forward now sits above football greats Gareth Bale, Thierry Henry, and Cristiano Ronaldo—all of whom were two-time winners of the honor.

Earlier this year, Salah also scooped the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award, further cementing his dominance in English football.

The Egyptian talisman enjoyed a stellar season, racking up 29 goals and 19 assists as Liverpool stormed to the league title.

In clinching the award, Salah beat out fierce competition, including teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Chelsea sensation Cole Palmer, Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes, Arsenal’s midfield powerhouse Declan Rice, and Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

Reflecting on the achievement, he said:

“I look at myself now, a guy coming from Egypt and making it to the top level, making history today, it’s something that makes me so proud.”
