Ruth Otabor, sister of Big Brother Naija winner Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has reportedly passed away.
The tragic news was shared by the SUG President of Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, who posted via his WhatsApp status that Ruth had died.
Recall that on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Ruth was struck by a Dangote Cement truck near Auchi Polytechnic, just six days after completing her graduation. The accident left her critically injured, with one of her legs amputated and fears that the other was also at risk.
Reports at the time revealed that the truck driver attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by bystanders. Phyna later called for justice, alleging negligence and a cover-up attempt by the authorities.
Dangote Cement Plc confirmed the incident, stating that its officials and insurers had visited the scene, cooperated with law enforcement, and pledged medical support and compensation.
However, days later, Phyna expressed distress in a viral video, claiming the company’s representatives had gone silent on her sister’s condition, raising concerns of foul play.
The latest reports now claim that Ruth has died, sparking fresh reactions online.
