Former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has firmly ruled out any possibility of returning to the Presidential Villa.

Speaking in a recent interview, Mrs Jonathan said she has no desire to return to power, stressing that Nigeria’s distress is overwhelming and that she now values her peace of mind above all else.

She said;

“The distress of Nigeria is so much that if God manages to bring you out of it, you should glorify Him. Why do you want to go back there? I need peace. My peace is enough.”

Her comments come at a time when speculations are growing that her husband, former President Goodluck Jonathan, may contest the 2027 presidential election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga has already cautioned Jonathan against heeding calls to run again, reminding him of his defeat in 2015.

Despite the mounting pressure, he has yet to make any official declaration about his 2027 political ambitions.
