Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy has opened up about his journey to global dominance, revealing how a 7-year restriction from leaving his continent shaped his career.
According to Burna, he was barred from traveling to the UK for several years, giving others a head start in the industry. However, everything changed in 2016 when he finally set foot in London.
“I was not allowed to leave my continent for 7 years to the UK, that was a head start for everyone. As soon as I stepped my feet there in 2016, I said it was over for y’all,” he declared.
Since then, Burna Boy has grown into one of Africa’s biggest music exports, selling out arenas worldwide and putting Afrobeats on the global map.
