Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare from Belgian side Genk, in a deal that strengthens their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-year contract with an option of an additional year, making him the latest Nigerian star to secure a move to England’s top flight.
Arokodare enjoyed a prolific spell in Belgium, finishing last season as the league’s top scorer with 21 goals. In total, he scored 23 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions for Genk during the 2024/25 campaign, and had already found the net this season against Standard Liege.
The powerful forward began his career in Latvia with Valmiera, where he scored 22 goals in 34 matches, before moving to Germany with Cologne and then to France with Amiens. He joined Genk in 2023, quickly establishing himself as one of the most lethal strikers in Europe.
Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian international Christantus Uche is on the verge of joining Crystal Palace from Getafe. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old midfielder is already in London to sign, after both clubs reached a verbal agreement. Uche registered four goals in 33 league appearances last season and has also scored in La Liga this term.
Another Super Eagles star, Samuel Chukwueze, is close to sealing a €25 million move to Fulham from AC Milan. The 26-year-old winger is undergoing a medical in London ahead of the transfer, which includes performance-related bonuses, according to The Times.
