“It is time to ask Akpabio WETIN?” – Aisha Yesufu Slams Akpabio Over Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Suspension

Tinubu Isn’t My President – Aisha Yesufu

Socio-political activist Aisha Yesufu has taken a swipe at Senate President Godswill Akpabio following the continued suspension of Kogi Central senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Yesufu wrote:

“It is time to ask Akpabio WETIN?”

Her comment comes after the National Assembly once again barred Akpoti-Uduaghan from resuming plenary duties.

In a letter dated September 4 and signed by the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Yahaya Danzaria, the Senate stated that her suspension remains in force until the Court of Appeal delivers judgment on her case.

Although the senator notified the leadership of her intention to return on September 4, the Senate insisted her suspension—which began on March 6, 2025—is still binding.

The suspension followed her refusal to accept a change of designated seat during plenary. It also came with the withdrawal of her aides, office privileges, and salaries.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, however, has maintained that her ordeal is connected to her petition against Senate President Akpabio, whom she accused of sexual harassment—a claim the Senate dismissed.

In July, her attempt to re-enter the National Assembly sparked a standoff, with security operatives preventing her from gaining access despite supporters rallying outside the complex.

The case is now pending at the appellate court, with the Senate insisting no administrative action can be taken until the judicial process is concluded.
