Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has sparked intense reactions online after sharing his thoughts on the ongoing situation in Nepal.
In a lengthy post, the comedian cautioned against glorifying revolutions, drawing comparisons to past uprisings in countries like Libya. According to him, while many initially celebrate protests, they often overlook the devastating aftermath.
“They are happy about Nepal until rebuilding becomes a problem. They will never learn from Libya. They think revolution won’t affect the politicians they love. Keep fanning what you can’t sustain and remember to start in your region,” he wrote.
Seyi Law further highlighted that beyond the excitement of protests, the reality often includes destruction, looting, and regret from citizens.

“They will show you burnt buildings and politicians beaten, but they won’t tell you that Nepalese are regretting now. Iconic structures destroyed, criminals escaped, women raped and properties looted,” he added.
The comedian concluded his statement by criticizing those who encourage chaos without thinking of long-term consequences.
His comments have stirred debate online, with some supporting his cautionary stance, while others accused him of being dismissive of people’s struggles.
