I’m suffering more than Manchester United fans – Amorim laments

EPL: Frustrated Amorim smashes TV inside Man Utd dressing room after Brighton defeat

Ruben Amorim has confessed that he is enduring more pain than Manchester United’s supporters after their latest setback – a 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City.

The result deepened United’s crisis, leaving them with just four points from four games, their worst Premier League start in 33 years.

Amorim’s record is bleak: he now holds the lowest win percentage of any United manager since World War II. Since his appointment in November, the club has collected the fewest points of any ever-present Premier League side, averaging just one per match, with a -13 goal difference.

Speaking after the derby loss, Amorim accepted responsibility and the possibility of dismissal:

“The performance was not good. In the important moments, they were better than us. I see the record. I understand the frustration and the decisions that come with that. I take the critics. That’s it.”

When asked about fans who left the Etihad early, he sent a message of commitment despite the pressure:

“My message? I will do everything. Always thinking about what is best for the club. Until I’m here, I’ll do my best. The rest is not my decision. I’m suffering more [than the fans].”

Amorim’s tenure now hangs in the balance, with United’s next clash against Chelsea shaping up as a defining moment for both his future and the team’s faltering campaign.
