The Atlanta Police Department has confirmed the arrest of a suspect linked to a car robbery in which hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music were reportedly stolen.
Kelvin Evans was taken into custody in late August and charged with Entering Automobile or Other Motor Vehicle With Intent to Commit Theft or Felony, according to Billboard. Authorities stated that the stolen items have not yet been recovered.
The robbery occurred while Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour made a four-night stop in Atlanta this July. Two suitcases were allegedly stolen from a rented Jeep during the incident.
In a released 911 call, Beyoncé’s choreographer Chris Grant could be heard pleading for the recovery of the items:
“They have my computers, and it’s really, really important information in there. I work with someone who’s like of a high status, and I really need my computer and everything.”
The incident report revealed that the trunk window of the Jeep Wagoneer had been smashed. Police lifted fingerprints at the scene, flagged a suspicious vehicle, and eventually issued an arrest warrant.
Despite the theft, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour went on uninterrupted and wrapped up two weeks later in Las Vegas.
