Cardi B has accused her estranged husband, Offset, of deliberately delaying their divorce by demanding that she hand over “millions of dollars.”
The “I Like It” rapper, who filed for divorce from Offset in July 2024, has since moved on with American football star Stefon Diggs, with whom she is now expecting a child.
Speaking to fans via X Spaces on Monday, the 32-year-old clarified that the delay was not out of lingering love for her ex but due to a bitter dispute over money.
“Yes, I’m having a baby with somebody else. So what? That happens. It’s life,” Cardi B said. “Let me tell you something, I did things the correct way the first time. I fell in love. I got two rings on my finger. I lasted seven years… Stop saying, ‘Oh, but you’re still married.’ No, I’m legally separated.”
Cardi, who shares three children with Offset, claimed that he is refusing to finalise the split unless she meets his alleged demands.
“The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes,” she alleged.
“Y’all wanna know the tea? The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’m fighting for that, I’m gonna fight for that. This is not no love s**t.”
Cardi B continued,
“I’m not gonna stop living my life because on a contract I’m practically still married because somebody wanna hold me hostage if I don’t give them millions of dollars to get out of it.”
Offset has not yet responded to the allegations.
The pair married in 2017 and share three children: daughters Kulture (8) and Blossom (12 months), and son Wave (3). Last week, Cardi B confirmed she is pregnant with her fourth child — her first with Diggs.
