Ayra Starr Debuts Stylish New Tattoo, Sparks Fan Curiosity

Music streaming giant Spotify has unveiled its list of the Top 5 Female Afrobeats Artists in the Last 12 Months, with Nigerian sensation Ayra Starr taking the number one spot.

Spotify described Ayra Starr as “the pop star of Afrobeats”, cementing her dominance in the genre.

Grammy winner Tems followed closely at number two, while Libianca, the American-Cameroonian hitmaker, claimed the third spot. Aya Nakamura, the Malian-French star, came in fourth, and British-Nigerian artist Darkoo rounded off the top five.

Interestingly, South African breakout star Tyla, despite sweeping major Afrobeats awards in the past year, did not make the list.

Spotify also released its ranking of Top 5 Afrobeats Artists in Latin America, with Nigerians completely dominating the chart:

Rema is number one of the list, Ayra Starr took the second spot, while CKay completes the top 3.

Burna Boy and Wizkid are number 4 and 5, respectively.

The rankings highlight the growing global influence of Nigerian Afrobeats artists, particularly in Latin America, where the genre’s popularity continues to surge.
