Metro Boomin, real name Leland Wayne, has broken his silence after a jury found him not liable for sexual assault in a civil trial concluded on Thursday.
After about an hour of deliberation, jurors cleared the music producer of all four causes of action. According to Rolling Stone, the panel ruled that plaintiff Vanessa LeMaistre failed to prove her claims that Boomin raped her at a Southern California hotel in 2016.
The Grammy-winning producer, who had denied the allegations since the lawsuit was filed in October 2024, took to Instagram to share his relief.
“I’m grateful and thankful to God that I can finally put all of this nonsense behind me. Based off of how I treat others and represent myself, never in a million years would I have thought I could be accused of such a disgusting and heinous act,” Metro Boomin, 32, wrote.
He acknowledged that while the verdict was a legal victory, the process had come at a steep personal and financial cost.
“Today I took a victory in court but in reality there is a long list of losses I stacked up in this year long process of clearing my name and reputation. The very large amount of money and time wasted based off of someone else’s greed, coupled with the incalculable amount of money and opportunities that did not make it to me or my team during this time,” he stated.
Metro Boomin also highlighted the emotional toll the case had on his family, particularly his younger siblings whom he adopted after their mother’s death in 2022.
“The trauma my family and I have endured during this dark period can never be forgiven,” Metro Boomin added.
He expressed gratitude to his legal team for their pursuit of justice and ended his statement with a message of solidarity:
“Peace and love to all of the actual victims out there as well as the innocent and accused.”
Meanwhile, LeMaistre’s lawyer, Michael J. Willemin, told People that they were “disappointed” with the verdict but remained confident it would be overturned on appeal.
